BY JONAS SCHILDERS,

a fashion & documentary photographer, based around the world, always on the go in search of aspiring individuals and cultures — he's a lover of people at the end of the day.

Tagging along on his parent's travels from a young age, it was inevitable for him not to fall in love with the world and her people. But it was only when a dear friend presented him with a 35mm camera on his travels to Africa, that he discovered the medium of photography.

People have always been at the heart of my photography. Whether it’s friends, family, or future friends, connection is what drives both my life and my work. That’s how this journey began—meeting Sana in India and eventually collaborating in the place I now call home, a quiet stretch along the Portuguese coast. Time and again, a simple “hello” has led to the most meaningful moments in my life.

Portugal is the place I currently call home—a place that feels deeply real and authentic. From hidden tascas in quiet coastal towns to empty beaches and the energy of a bustling city, it’s a country full of contrast and charm. Living here has been a true treasure, and getting to share it with some of my closest friends has been the sweetest part of all.
