Sri Lanka has been an unforgettable journey, one that I will always carry in my heart. From the moment I arrived, I felt a sense of peace and excitement, knowing that this trip would be special.
"How to Disconnect from the World for a Week"
We stayed at Trebartha East, a four-bedroom round house nestled in the middle of a cinnamon plantation, where the only sounds were those of nature. Yet, just 10 minutes away was Ahangama, a lively surf town, perfect for when we craved a bit more activity.

The scent of this place is something I will never forget. It reminds me of nature, of the ocean breeze mixed with the aroma of fresh spices and blooming flowers. It’s a fragrance that lingers in my mind, bringing me back to these beautiful moments.
Every day was a new adventure—exploring breathtaking landscapes, feeling the warmth of the sun on my skin, and immersing myself in the beauty of this incredible country.
I have truly enjoyed every moment, allowing myself to relax, disconnect, and simply be present.
The food has been absolutely delicious. Every meal was a burst of flavors, a perfect combination of spices and fresh ingredients that made me fall in love with the local cuisine. Each bite felt like a new discovery, a taste of Sri Lanka’s rich culture and tradition.

"Cactus" – Great for drinks. It has beach access and a really cool vibe / "Follow the White Rabbit" – Right by the beach and perfect for dinner with a sunset view!
Ahangama is a well-known surfing spot with waves and beaches for all levels. If you’re a beginner or intermediate surfer, I recommend the beaches we visited:
"Weligama" – The best for beginners. / "Kabalana" – A more beautiful beach, but with stronger currents. | Both beaches have plenty of surf rental shops and surf schools!
I have taken deep breaths, letting the peaceful atmosphere fill my soul. And as I leave, I take with me the sweetest memories—of laughter, of serenity, of the kindness of the people, and of the magic that makes Sri Lanka such a special place.
This journey has been a gift, and I can't wait to return one day.
